TARTE Amazonian 12 hr Clay blush review!!

                                               TARTE Amazonian clay blushes!!

(The fantastic foursome, enthusiast set review)

Hi Everyone!!
I get so excited this time of year because of all the great beauty finds that come out. Recently Sephora was having their VIB friends and family sale. If you are unfamiliar with this sale, well in a nutshell: you get a card from Sephora and if you visit the store enough or order online you start accumulating points and then they start sending you things when sales are etc. During the VIB sale you get 20 % off of your purchases and you can bring a friend with you. I happened to go on my lunch break with one of my girlfriends and I found this little amazing deal!!

YES!!! Tarte amazonian clay blushes!! I own one of them full size and the quality of these is unbelievable!! Now a full size blush from Tarte is about $30 so to get 4 of them at $35 is incredible!! These are NOT full size but you do get a whole heck of alot of color that will last me a very long time. I also can explore different colors and if I fall in love with one of them I can get the full size!

The colors are simply stunning with these four!! And with these blushes you really do NOT need alot of product for the color to show. Also the staying power is amazing. I can vouche for a 12 hour day and the color still is on my cheeks when I get home fom work!

The back of the box also have a to and from so it makes for a great gift to a friend or you could even take them out of thebox and give them out individually with a candle or some other trincket!!

These colors are absolutely gorgeous!!! Going from the left to the right the colors are as follows: Stellar, Fantastic, Magic, Angellic.

Swatched on my hand. I only placed my finger on the color once so like I said a little really goes a very long way. The colors from left to right are just gorgeous!! Stellar has a beautiful shimmery nude color. On the cheeks it adds a beautiful glow and life to your cheeks.  The color Fantastic, is a beautiful fushia color. The color is very bright so just a little and it adds gorgeous color to your face.  Magic is a very soft baby pink.  It seems a little chaulky when I swatched it but then on my face it added a gorgeous shade of pink to my cheeks.  And lastly Angellic is a gorgeous shimmery champagne color. Oh this color is so so beautiful in person. The camera can not do this justice!!  This is my favorite color!! I did not wear this as a blush but instead as a highlight and it's just gorgeous. It works great as a browbone highlight too!!

Stellar

                                                                        Fantastic

Magic

                                                                          Angellic

You can purchase these from Tarte. I'm not sure if Sephora still has these available or not.  http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-fantastic-foursome-Amazonian-clay-12-hour-blush-set

Overall, I am so impressed with Tarte's blushes that I will keep adding more and more of their products to my collection. I think that the quality is amazing and Tarte offers alot of great deals especially around the holidays.  I have seen them featuring some great products on QVC as well.  Definitely worth it if you get these 4!! If you have never owned a tarte blush or if you are interested in this product I think purchasing a set like this will give you a great love for them and you will not be dissapointed.
Enjoy the holidays and the shopping that comes with it!!!!

Review: Bath & Body Works Forever Red fragrance

I'm going to start by saying this was completely an impulse buy when I walked into the store. I went in to take advantage of the 2 for $20 3 wick candles and then I saw this display. The display was more towards the back of the store and it has this cascading mountain of this gorgeous red color. I was immediately drawn to it. At the top of this beautiful cascading mountain of red was a larger perfume bottle. I reached for it and smelled one of the most pleasurable scents!!
They were selling these .25ml bottles for $5 which is totally worth it. I may even go back today and pick up another one because they are perfect to throw into your handbag!!
The fragrance is perfect for this time of year. I don't believe I have ever smelled something so luxurious from Bath & Body works. Usually they carry more of a fruity and more playful scent but this smells like an expensive department store fragrance!!
Here is a super cute video you should check out that is an advertisement for the fragrance:
http://fr.bathandbodyworks.com/

These are the notes that I could find on the websites:
Top Notes: Fiery Pomegranate, Rare French Peach, Luminous Apple
Mid Notes: Red Peony, Night Marigold, Red Osmanthus
Dry Notes: Rich Vanilla Rum, Velvety Marshmallow, Oak Wood

Give this scent a dry you will not be disappointed. The bottle is very pretty to have on display. If you were looking for a fall/winter fragrance I think this should be it.
Love it and I can't wait to get the full size bottle !!

e.l.f little black BEAUTY Book of makeup!!

So I was at my local Target when I stumbled upon this great little display of e.l.f. cosmetics!! If you are unfamiliar with e.l.f (eyes lips face), they are primarily found at Targets and more of their products can be found on their website. The prices are extremely affordable and they are often over looked because of them being so budget friendly. Many of the products that I have used have been wonderful. An example, their brush cleaner is $3 and it's absolutely wonderful. They have a matte lipstick that I got for $3 and I absolutely love the formula and color. The black gel liner also $3 is one of the creamiest and smoothest formulas that I have found.
So when I saw this on the display I just had to get it.

The size alone is just precious! it fits comfortably in your hand and has 48 eye shadows to choose from. The warm phython edition was the one I choose and it cost me $6.99! There is a little mirror inside as well which would be great for travel. The color selection ranges from warm earthy tones to more colored jewel tones.

- This is one side of the palette. So as you can see there are some pinks and purples, blues, greens and even great highlight colors!!

The other side of the palette that has the mirror has alot of great neutral warm tones to work with!

The exterior has a darling little python skin and the quality of the packaging is amazing and it will protect your shadows from cracking if you do decide to travel with them!

Overall, great bang for your buck! Tons of colors to choose from. The quality of the shadows is great. They have great color pay off. I did not experience any creasing with them, although I did prime my lids prior to applying.
I just think that it's great to have in your collection.
The other two that I saw , one had more cool tones and another also had warm tones but I could not pass up the super cute python exterior!

MAC Haul : Cool Essence collection

This one color in particular caught my attention from this MAC collection. I had to go down to my local MAC counter and see this color in person , but I was certain that it would have to be a part of my collection.

This color in the pan looks like a lime green color but it's so striking!!! I had to have it and after seeing this color in person it's more amazing. I'm not sure that the pictures will do it justice but it's such a gorgeous color. When you apply this color the color is very wearable. I know that sometimes MAC comes up with colors that are not always wearable to the office but this color on the eye can be worn to your office.

The color looks very brilliant on the eye! Any eye color will make your eyes pop. Especially if you line your eyes with a black liner and make sure to have gorgeous thick lashes on!! A great crease color to go with this can be a nude color if you want the eye shadow to be the focus or you can use a more red brown color to add to this. I think that this color will be beautiful well into fall.
Swatched on my hand you can see that the color is very wearable. For the fall I added a beautiful burgundy eyeliner and some false lashes and this really made my eyes look gorgeous.

Here is the best part of this shadow which by the way is called 'Brilliantly Lit", is that it has a very cool sensation. It almost has a liquid consistency but really it's just like a regular eye shadow!!

Great product and color that I can't get enough of. If you are looking for something unique to add to your collection this would be the one to add!!

Nook Simple Touch with Glow Review

So I have been a fan of ereaders for a long time. Initially I thought that it would be difficult to part with 'real' books. I love turning the pages of a book and the smell that books have. I just love books! When amazon came out with the kindle I thought there was no way that I would want that. But somehow I was on the waiting list for one and got my self an e reader. This started a whole new way of reading for me. I could carry around multiple books because the ease of carrying one around was just amazing. For some reason one day I decided I miss real books and sold my kindle on ebay. About two years ago when I was walking through my local barnes and noble there it was again, an e reader.
Barnes and noble had this pretty display with all these colors and a representative that was there, well naturally I was sold! I bought the simple nook touch. I absolutely loved that thing. I was downloading from the library and from barnes and noble. I convinced several people that they needed to buy one as well and they did!! I started lending books and just became obsessed with books even more than I was before!!
Until about a week ago......
We took a trip up to Michigan and I was so excited to lay around all day and catch up on my reading. Enjoy the fresh air. Well when dusk began to approach I realized quickly that the one thing I forgot was my book light!! I was so upset!! So naturally we came back into town and I had to order the nook with the glow light!

I can not rave enough about this product!! It has the most perfect amount of light that shines on my reading so I can read whenever where ever. Was I concerned about battery life? Heck ya I was but Nook has some incredible folks that work there because they figured out how to make the battery life even with the glow on last you about a month!! Why do I feel like this is the superior e reader on the market?
~ It's light weight. I never leave home without it. I always carry it in my purse and fire it up if I'm waiting at the doctors office, on my lunch break, a line at the nail salon, you name it and you can always have your nook. The size is slightly bigger than an adults hand

~ I love the e-ink technology. For those of you who think that you can't do away with books. Well just pick this up at the barnes and noble and you might think twice about it.

~Reading at night is a wonderful experience. I can turn on the glow light and read comfortably. The light weight of this product does not hurt my hand or wrist.

~ Downloading books from the library is one of my favorite parts of owning a nook. I do like to purchase my books, especially on Fridays because there are so many discounted books, but borrowing from the library is almost like an adventure. You may have to be put on a waiting list, but sometimes the anticipation of things is fun. We are so use to getting everything when we want it that having to wait for something feels like a bigger reward in the end!!

In all I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you pick this product up!! If you love to read or are someone who sometimes reads but you don't always remember your books or just forget this will make you fall back in love!!

DIY: A No Sew Tote bag!!!

I needed a new lunch bag and stumbled upon a video on how to make tote bags without sewing. As much as I would like to get better at sewing I still am not great at it. So the video I watched showed me how to make a tote using fabric, staples, and duct tape! Now when I went to the fabric store I was excited to find that they already had little pre-cut 18" x 21" pieces for only $1.99!!! Now they make duck tape in all these great fun colors so I just had a field day with picking out colors and patterns. Then belting is required to make the little handles and with a few staples you will have the following product!!

-
What you are seeing in the above picture is this pretty black and grey small rose pattern on the fabric and on the interior I used little skull and cross bone duck tape!! This was such a fun and easy way to make a cute and personalized tote bag to bring along my lunches to work. I bought a few patterns so I will make a few more for my friends and I will also make a larger tote so that I can use these bags for my groceries!! Yes these bags are sturdy enough that they can carry all your heavy groceries and even heavy books!! Who knew that duct tape was such an amazing thing!!
This was my first stab at this project, I will make another one and post step by step photos of how I made this super cute tote!!

Rainbow Sprinkle Manicure

So I love the caviar nail polish but I didn't actually buy the one that is offered at Sephora. Instead I went to Micheals (craft store) and purchased micro beads from the Martha Stewart collection. There is a large variety of colors to choose from and also you can mix alot of the colors together.
I made my own video on the process which I will link at the bottom of this blog.
Realistically the manicure can only last for a few days because the beads start to fall off. I do apply a clear coat to the tips of the nails to save some of the beads but they do begin to fall off. This manicure is great for special events and if you are tired of the same old manicures. If you choose the inexpensive route and go to your local craft store it's not as expensive and you have SO many more colors to choose from!!

Here is a link to my youtube video on how to achieve this manicure.

Finished Hocus Pocus book of shadows!!

So I blogged a few weeks ago about the book that I was in the process of making. Well I finally finished it!! I'm really really excited with the end product. I was able to get the pages glued in and I also was able to modge podge some content on the pages. I will insert some photos so you can see the finished product!

Here is a side view of the book. I did all the painting by hand.

Here is the front cover of the book. If you look closely yes there is a little eyeball just like in the movie.

Here is a picture with the pages glued in. I also added ribbon as place markers in the book.

And lastly I found some crochet patterns that I really like so I started a chapter in the book on different patterns

Making my own book?!?!

So I love the movie Hocus Pocus. The movie came out in 1993, it stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler. It's definitely my favorite Halloween movie and always puts me in the spirit!! I love the story and I just think it's such a great movie. Well I was on etsy.com the other day and I found that someone had made a replica of the Book of Shadows that the witches use in the movie. It's supposedly made out of human skin and it has a little hand on it and snakes and an eyeball!!! So of course I said " I want one!" I began looking up book binding and starting coming up with ways to make my very own! Here is the progress of it. I have been working on it for about a week now! Here is a link to the book in the movie: http://www.google.com/search?q=hocus+pocus+book&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#biv=i|0;d|L_mQUEGPoNBf9M:

In the photo above I purchased a leather photo album and using terra cotta clay I started to mold the snakes, the eye and the "skin" for the cover. Once the clay is dry I used gorilla glue to glue everything in place.

In the above photo you can see I finished the front and back cover. Total there are 6 snakes the eye, the little hand on the back and the "skin".

Because the book is suppose to look like it is made of skin there has to be stitching involved to I hand stitched scar tissue and stitches using string!

There is an up close look at the stitching!

Sothe project is not yet complete I still have to paint and obviously add the pages. Stay tuned and I will update with my progress!!

Green Eyes!

Hi guys!!
With Spring being sort of close, well not really but it feels like it ....kinda, sorta....Okay! Maybe not!! Makeup wise the stores have been displaying SOOOOOO many gorgeous spring colors and I just have been getting so so inspired to incorporate the colors in my everyday routine. I was at my local Macy's and I happened to walk over to the Lancome counter and they had a beautiful collection for spring! I picked up one of their palettes that has the most beautiful mint green color in it and I paired it with my Maybelline  24 hr Tattoo in "edgy emerald"and I thought instantly of Spring!!
Here are the pics to prove it!!

Be inspired by spring!!

Rent the runway!

Hi guys! I did a video on this before but I just can't say enough how much I love this service! Rent the runway is a website that lets you rent clothes straight off the runway!! How does it really work? You go on the website and search for whatever outfit you want. I will use my most recent experience Witt the site. I had a wedding that I was attending and I needed a gown so I spotted a gorgeous Mischance Badgley floor length gown with black sequence. It was off the shoulder and looks like something a celebrity would wear on the red carpet. I also needed some jewelry so I spotted some gorgeous diamond sapphire earring and rented those to. I then select the date that I need the dress for so I normally choose the day before. I pick two sizes in case one doesnt fit. Don't worry there is a size chart so you can figure out your size and then I pay! How much did I pay??? Well prices obviously vary. This gown was $100 and the earrings were $20. The way I look at it. Would spend that much if not more to find an outfit but I normally don't want to rewear it so this site is perfect for me!! I wore the gown to the wedding and people could not stop complimenting my gown! I'm not kidding that the bride walked up to me and said your gown upstages even my wedding gown!! The jewels looked incredible!! Once the evening is over rent the runway supplies you with the envelope you need to ship the gowns back then drop them off in the mailbox and you are done!! I absolutely love this service and its my way to feel gorgeous and maybe like a celebrity for a night !! Try it you won't regret it!!

Hi girls!!
I promise I am going to try and get better about posting these NOTD's!! I know I have been horrible but I am trying to get in the habit especially since the spring time is bringing on some really gorgeous colors.
The color I am wearing today is by NARS. The name of the color is "Pokerface". I have never used a NARS nailpolish. This is my first time using it and I must say that I am very impressed with the color and the formula. The nailpolish went on opaque with two coats. Dried quickly and had a beautiful shine. I am a huge fan and I hope they get some gorgeous spring colors!!

Here is the pic!!

Gorg!!!
I did add an accent nail on my ring finger. I put one coat of China Glaze 'White cap' and it gives it that little tiny gorgeous sparkle!! I will be wearing this in a lot of my future!!
xoxo
